What is Root Canal Treatment(Endodontics)?

Endodontics is the specialized field of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, management and treatment of the dental pulp/nerve of the teeth and the surrounding gums and bony tissue. It is commonly known as root canal treatment (RCT) or nerve treatment.

Root Canal Treatment is carried out whenever the nerves of the teeth are giving pain. This nerves are removed in a delicate operation by opening a small hole onthe top surface of the teeth. This is a good alternative to extracting the teeth.
